چکیده
Abstract Introduction Penile fracture (PF) is a rare but potentially catastrophic injury due to the risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) and penile curvature in young, sexually active men. The diagnosis commonly made by clinical examination only may be inaccurate 15% Despite this, ultrasound (US) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) remains poorly utilised. Objective This study aims correlate for first time suggestive PF with intraoperative findings as gold standard comparator order calculate sensitivity specificity accurately possible. Methods Retrospective analysis (electronic paper records) all men referred querying over ten years at single centre (January 2010 - December 2020). All suspected on US and/or MRI were included. Same day was performed equivocal cases or further define extent injury. Imaging correlated findings. Results 114 underwent surgical exploration 10 median age 39 (range 16-74). Pre-existing ED reported 9 6 pre-existing Peyronie’s disease. Most had pre-operative doppler (92.6%, n=112) subsequent 13 (11.6%). Two surgically explored after only. Table 1 summarises strong correlation between not identified 8 (7.1%). upgraded showed greater 76.5% (n=13). there false positive where found exploration. have been confounded plaque calcification. Urethral 24 intraoperatively 4 MRI. Conclusions has high PPV when compared excellent both urethral should considered cases. combination useful avoid unnecessary surgery can characterise complex/atypical injuries guide choice incision planning. routinely offered prior Disclosure No

Penile fracture and magnetic resonance imaging.
A thirty-three-year-old male presented to an outside emergency department with scrotal swelling and pain after intercourse. A scrotal ultrasound revealed hematoma, with no other abnormalities and the patient was discharged. He then presented to our institution where examination showed diffuse ecchymosis through the shaft of the penis, suprapubic region, and scrotum without a palpable cavernosal...

background penile fracture is a relatively rare urologic emergency. it is defined as traumatic rupture in tunica albuginea of corpus cavernosum. traditionally, surgeon explores the penis in full-length by complete degloving of its skin and repairs any defect in the tunica. imaging modalities such as ultrasound and mri may be of help to reveal the exact site of tunica defect preoperatively for t...

Penile cancer is a rare neoplasm that, although rare in the developed world, has devastating physical and psychological consequences for the patient. Novel MR imaging techniques such as lymphotropic nanoparticle-enhanced MR imaging may help identify metastatic lymph node disease. This article reviews the normal penile anatomy and MR imaging techniques and features of primary and metastatic peni...

PURPOSE To evaluate the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with suspected penile fracture. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 122 patients admitted to our inpatient clinic with a suspicion of penile fracture following a recent history of penile trauma and who underwent surgical exploration were included this study. A thorough physical examination, a detailed medica...
